Spill It! Eliza Haury
Here at Neely & Chloe, there’s nothing we love more than getting the opportunity to showcase women who truly embody the spirit of our brand. Enter our very own staffer, Eliza Haury.
As you will discover in today's episode, Eliza has been a part of Neely & Chloe's story since day one. As our Merchandise Operations Coordinator, Eliza's day-to-day is never the same at our Tribeca office. From liaising with our manufacturer to checking in on proto samples, we're excited to peel back the curtain and share more of Eliza's important role in making accessible luxury a reality for our customers.
And aside from our working relationship, we're also huge fans of Eliza's chic personal style & endless optimism - two things we got to talk more about during our recent coffee run together. So before we spill any more details, enjoy Neely's conversation with Eliza who chatted with us about her role here at Neely & Chloe, life in New York, and how she’s embracing the ampersand lifestyle to the fullest.
Spill It! Introductions, please!
Hi! I’m Eliza Haury, and I am the Merchandising and Production Coordinator here at Neely & Chloe.
Spill It! How did you first connect with Neely and Chloe and what is your day-to-day like as a member of the team?
A friend/former co-worker connected me with Neely when I first graduated from college. Neely had just launched her retail concept NEELY by VNB and was looking to hire someone for a sales/marketing position. Fast forward about a year, Chloe joined the team, and we began to shift into private label. I started working alongside Chloe on the production/merchandising side of things, and here we are almost two years later!
As for my day-to-day, depending on where we are in the production timeline, I am doing anything from reviewing proto samples and communicating our comments/changes to our manufacturer, deciding on leather qualities and colors for the season, writing purchase orders, etc.
Spill It! What are your thoughts on winter fashion and do you have any tried-and-true pieces that get you through the harsh temperatures?
Oh yes, winter fashion is all about a wardrobe of coats for me. A good outer layer truly is the best investment you can make in prep for the harsh reality of winter in NYC. On those days when the temp goes below 20 degrees, and you can’t fathom the idea of getting out of bed, a huge warm oversized trench can be your whole outfit!
Spill It! What’s on your winter wish-list and why?
Well, separate from a puppy, I’m all about the experiences this year. Trips, concerts, dinners, random activities, with friends and family.
Spill It! Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
Besides the obvious (drink more water, get more sleep), I’ve decided that 2018 will be a year of making time for myself. Living in New York is amazing, but with everything going on it’s easy to end up overextended and stressed out. I want to find more opportunities for some peace and quiet in my life.
